Our global activity day was a collaboration between families and New Enchantment members.
Participants arrived at Andy Brown Park East in Coppell for a park clean-up and to hand out flyers aimed at raising awareness about cigarette butt litter and proper disposal of used kitchen oil.
Photos and videos were used to record the event.
After the park clean-up there was a brief discussion about the importance of this type of activity and then a picnic lunch was eaten. Other members who live further away had a park clean-up in San Marcos, Tx at Spring Lake Preserve. This activity was organized and led by Jan Hodges. Including children and adults we had 29 participants for this activity.
We also attended a Live Green Expo with tips for environmentally friendly activities in March. Topics included composting, organic gardening and pest control, water conservation, the wonderful contribution of bees to our planet, recycling, energy conservation and much more. We met at the event and walked around, talking to vendors and receiving materials and information on ways to incorporate some of these things into our daily lives. We were all glad to go and felt we learned a great deal.
