Seattle 2015

Seattle community has been participating in many ecological activities including taking a road and ferry trip to Double Bluff Beach where we made sand art on the beach; weeding around the "Compost Droids"; planting trees; inner tubing in the Methow River; and facilitating a presentation by Paul Stamets who gave a presentation of how fungi connect everything on earth.
Norwood 2015

As the Monitor of the New Enchantment, during our 19th Annual Campout, I worked toward some specific things we could all do to lighten our ecological footprint and invited campers to participate in a “Zero Waste Campout Initiative”. We raised the bar and challenged ourselves to drastically reduce, reuse, recycle, and rethink how we camp, so we would have less trash into our landfills during our few days of camping. The end result was an 80% decrease in landfill trash. We also had a educational talk about edible plants and nature’s abundance.

Santa Fe 2015The work of the “Four People” continued in September with an invitation by Jeffrey Bronfman and John Stokes (from the Tracking project) to come to New Mexico and participate in a series of gatherings.

A group of 12 people met at the Aspen Vista parking lot n September 22nd, 2013 at 11 o’clock in the morning. Aspen Vista is a gorgeous hiking area high up on the Santa Fe National Forest road that goes to the ski basin.

San Francisco celebrated Earth Day Backyard Fun with dance, music, play and games.
For our global activity day we prepared Earth Paste, a biodegradable cleaning paste that is easy to make.

The first half of 2012 included a winter hike in January taking time after the busy holidays to enjoy and spend time in the quietness of the forest being calmed by the soft green moss covering the ground, rock and logs.

Our global activity day was a collaboration between families and New Enchantment members.
Participants arrived at Andy Brown Park East in Coppell for a park clean-up and to hand out flyers aimed at raising awareness about cigarette butt litter and proper disposal of used kitchen oil.

We are excited to report on our 1st annual Ski day for the Santa Fe group.
There were seven children and nine adults two of which were Brasilleros, one who was having her first experience on skis.

Hike and Picnic Lunch at Woods Lake with Education about Alpine Lakes, 7/9/2012
This outing was a part of our yearly campout at Norwood.
We began our hike at the base of Woods Alpine lake. Our guide, Peter, shared education concerning the ecological importance of Alpine Lakes.
